Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright, born 17 February 1991, is an English actress. She is also a director, model, activist, and actress. Her most well-known work is her role in the role of Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter film series.Born in London, Wright made her professional acting debut in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001), portraying the role for 10 years, before appearing in the final film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 (2011). After the Harry Potter series, Wright appeared in a series of independent films which included Before I Sleep (2013), The Sea (2013), and After the Dark (2014) and After the Dark (2014). The films received mixed reviews. In 2013, she made her stage debut in Peter Ustinov’s The Moment of Truth at the Southwark Playhouse. She also earned a bachelor's degree in filmmaking from the University of the Arts London. In 2012, Wright launched BonBonLumiere and began making short films. Her first film she directed was the coming-of-age drama Separate We Come. Separate We We Go (2012). The film was released at Cannes Film Festival to high reviews. Wright also directed Know Thyself (2016) starring Christian Coulson and Sextant (2016). Both films explored emotion and landscape as themes. Wright's three-part series Phone Calls premiered at Tribeca Film Festival 2017. She released Medusa's Ankles (2018) featuring Kerry Fox and Jason Isaacs, based on A. S. Byatt's The Matisse Stories. She directed music videos for artists Sophie Lowe, Pete Yorn and Scarlett Johansson. Wright is an ambassador for Greenpeace and Lumos and has been acknowledged for her environmental activism.
