Her parents relocated to Dallas within a short time after she was born. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, Performing and Visual Arts located within the Arts District. Then, she received a BFA degree in acting from Stephens College and also studied at the British American Drama Academy. In addition, she worked for six years working at the highly regarded Dallas Theatre Center and one year at the theatre's Encore Company. Before making her screen debut, she began her acting career at the theater. Her theatrical credits include "As You Like It", the "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way To the Forum" The "Measure for Measure", the "Baby" and the "Chicago" productions, among other things. She was a standout in Michael Cristofer’s HBO television show Gia (1998) in which she was opposite Angelina Jolie. This performance has made her a favourite of critics and audiences alike. Elizabeth showed off her charismatic acting talent in the film Frequency (2001 with Dennis Quaid) and Neil LaBute’s sci-fi time travel adventure Nurse Betty ((2000) with Rene Zellweger). With numerous credits from theatres, TV shows and movies, Elizabeth Mitchell continues to perform at her very best in the acting field. Broke her nose during filming for the movie Frequency (2000). In 1994, she appeared in a Hertz Rent-A-Car commercial but "they pulled it due to the O.J. thing." In 1995, lived with boyfriend David Lee Smith (ex-Brent on the soap One Life to Live (1968)) on Manhattan's Upper West Side. They live in Dallas with their parents who are both tax and real estate attorneys. After a long run in the stage as Rosalind, she returned to the U.S. after having been in Europe for a while. When she was born in LA in 1970, her parents relocated to Dallas, Texas. She attended Booker T. Washington High School of the Performing and Visual Arts in downtown Dallas, Texas. Graduated from Stephens College in 1991 with a Fine Arts Degree. The actor was in Man and Boy (2002) along with Ioan Gruffudd. The show aired on BBC 1 TV in March 2002.
